If your mail is in Microsoft 365 or Outlook, Fyxer works and Inboxes does not: we authenticate with IMAP username and password, Microsoft has retired basic authentication for Exchange Online, so a managed work mailbox cannot connect to us at all. If you want an assistant that sits in your meetings and writes the notes, Fyxer does that and we have nothing like it. What is the best Fyxer AI alternative?
It depends on which limit pushed you off Fyxer. If the problem is reach, that mail on iCloud, Yahoo, Fastmail or your own domain cannot be connected, Inboxes is the closest fit: any IMAP mailbox on one browser board with AI categories, spam flagging and one-click draft replies for $29 a month flat. If the problem is that you want meeting notes bundled in, Fyxer is still the better product. If you live entirely in Gmail, Shortwave has deeper AI, and Superhuman is faster to drive.
Does Fyxer AI support IMAP email accounts?
No. Fyxer connects to Gmail and Outlook only, through the Google and Microsoft APIs, and its own help center answers this exact question by saying generic IMAP accounts are not supported. In practice that means iCloud, Yahoo, AOL, Fastmail, Zoho and any mailbox on your own domain cannot be added, no matter which plan you are on. A client that speaks plain IMAP is the only way to put those accounts under one AI assistant.

Is Fyxer AI worth it?
For one person whose whole working day runs through a single Gmail or Outlook account, yes. The draft replies save real time, the three bucket split is a sane default, and the meeting notetaker replaces a separate subscription. It stops being worth it in two situations: when your mail is spread across providers Fyxer cannot reach, and when several people or several mailboxes multiply a per seat price that starts at $270 a year and rises to $450 on Professional.
Is Fyxer better than Copilot?
They solve different halves of the problem. Microsoft Copilot is bundled with Microsoft 365 plans and writes and summarizes inside Outlook, but it does not triage your inbox for you. Fyxer sorts the inbox into buckets first and then drafts, which is the part most people want automated, and it works across Gmail as well as Outlook. If you already pay for Microsoft 365 and only want help writing, Copilot is included and Fyxer is an extra bill.
How do I cancel a Fyxer AI subscription?
Fyxer subscriptions are managed from the billing section of your Fyxer account, and their support team handles anything the dashboard will not do. Cancellation terms are theirs to set, so confirm the current process and any annual commitment on their site before you rely on it. If you are leaving because Fyxer cannot reach some of your mailboxes, check that whatever you move to speaks IMAP, or you will hit the same wall again.
Can I put Gmail and my own domain under one AI assistant?
Yes, but not with Fyxer, because a custom domain mailbox connects over IMAP and Fyxer does not accept IMAP. Inboxes does it: add the Gmail account with an app password, add the mailbox on your own domain with its IMAP host, and both land on the same board where every message gets a category, a spam verdict, and a drafted reply when it looks important.
