Armstrong email server settings

The zoominternet.net settings Armstrong publishes

From Armstrong's help page for email programs, and confirmed against the servers from the United States on October 6, 2026.

Incoming mail, IMAP

imap.zoominternet.net

  • Port 993 with SSL on
  • Mail stays on the server
  • The type Armstrong recommends

Outgoing mail, SMTP

smtp.zoominternet.net

  • Port 587 with TLS or STARTTLS on
  • Authentication required
  • Port 25 is no longer supported

Armstrong user name and password

  • The same login on both servers
  • No app password and no extra code
  • Try the full address first

If you still want POP. Armstrong lists pop3.zoominternet.net on port 995 with SSL. It warns that POP removes mail from the server and hands it to one device, which is how a message ends up on the desktop and nowhere else.

The user name is worded two ways. Armstrong's Outlook steps say to enter your email address as the user name. Its iPhone steps say your Zoom Internet user name. If the full address is refused, use only the part before the @.

One mailbox, two addresses. Armstrong added zoom.email as a shorter address that delivers to the same Zoom inbox. You do not set it up separately. Connect the mailbox once and mail sent to either address shows up.

In short

Armstrong email settings are imap.zoominternet.net on port 993 with SSL for incoming mail and smtp.zoominternet.net on port 587 with TLS or STARTTLS for outgoing mail, signed in with your Armstrong user name and password. Armstrong recommends IMAP, offers POP on pop3.zoominternet.net port 995, and no longer supports port 25. There is no separate Zoom Internet mail app, so the address is read in webmail through ArmstrongMyWire.com or in any mail program that speaks IMAP.

Why people look these up

A Zoom address usually outlives three computers

Armstrong is a regional cable company, and its customers tend to keep the same zoominternet.net address for a very long time. It is on the invoices, the parts supplier has it, and the county office has it. Nobody searches for server settings for fun. They search because a new laptop arrived, a phone was replaced, or Outlook stopped sending one morning.

That last one has a specific cause. Armstrong stopped supporting port 25 for sending mail, to better protect accounts. A program that was set up years ago and never touched keeps receiving normally and fails only when you hit send, which makes it look like a password problem when it is a port problem.

Typing the settings into one more device fixes today. It does not fix the larger pattern, which is one old address in a webmail tab, Gmail in another, and a work mailbox somewhere else. If that is your week, an email client for multiple accounts is the thing to set up once, and the Zoom address becomes one of several on the same list.

Armstrong's mail servers answered from the US and not from Europe

We opened the same connections from a server in the United States and from an ordinary address in Poland, minutes apart. This is the part no settings page mentions, and it matters if you travel.

From the United States

Answered

  • imap.zoominternet.net on 993: IMAP4rev1 ready, password login offered
  • pop3.zoominternet.net on 995: POP3 ready
  • Certificate issued for zoominternet.net hosts

From Poland

Timed out

  • imap.zoominternet.net on 993: no connection after 10 seconds
  • pop3.zoominternet.net on 995: no connection after 10 seconds
  • smtp.zoominternet.net on 587: no connection after 10 seconds

Armstrong does not publish a list of countries, so we cannot say where else this applies, and one test from one country is not a policy. What it does mean is practical. A mail program on your laptop connects from wherever the laptop is. Inboxes connects to Armstrong from the United States and shows you the result in a browser, so the mailbox keeps being read while you are abroad. The same thing happens with the Astound email app question, for the same reason.

Every way to read a zoominternet.net mailbox

Six routes to Armstrong Zoom email, compared

All six use the same settings. They differ in where they run and whether they hold your other addresses too.

Route to Zoom email Runs on Holds other accounts too Sorts or filters for you Cost
Inboxes Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, in a browser tab Yes, one merged board Yes, a category and a spam flag on every message 49 dollars a month for five mailboxes, half that billed yearly
Armstrong webmail Any browser, through ArmstrongMyWire.com No, the Zoom mailbox only Armstrong's own spam filtering Included with service
Armstrong app iPhone and Android No, it is an account management app Not applicable Included with service
iPhone or Android Mail app The phone only Yes No Included with the phone
Thunderbird Windows, macOS, Linux Yes, through Unified Folders Rules you write by hand Open source, no license fee
Classic Outlook Windows and macOS only Yes, several accounts in one profile Rules you write by hand Part of a Microsoft 365 subscription

Server names and ports come from Armstrong's help pages for email programs, iPhone, Android and Outlook. The Armstrong app's feature list is from Armstrong's own announcement of it. If one Zoom address on one home computer is the whole problem, Thunderbird or your phone's Mail app is an honest answer with no license fee.

When the setup fails

Armstrong email not working after you enter the settings

Mail arrives but will not send. This is the one Armstrong wrote two separate help sections about. Open the outgoing server settings and check three things: the server is smtp.zoominternet.net, the port is 587, and authentication is on with the user name and password filled in. An empty outgoing user name is the usual culprit on phones.

An old setup is still on port 25. Armstrong no longer supports it. Change the outgoing port to 587 and switch on TLS or STARTTLS. Nothing else about the account needs to change.

The laptop shows mail the phone does not. One of the devices was set up as POP and has been removing messages from the server. Delete that account on the device, add it again as IMAP on port 993, and from then on both see the same mailbox.

The password is refused everywhere at once. Sign in to webmail through ArmstrongMyWire.com. If it fails there too, the password itself is wrong or was changed, and Armstrong support resets it at 1-877-277-5711. If webmail works, the fault is in the program's user name field.

It stopped working on a trip. See the test above. From outside the United States the servers may not answer at all, and no setting on your device changes that.

Setting it up

Armstrong email in a browser tab, in three steps

No installer. The connection is made once on our side, so every computer you open it on shows the same board.

  1. 1

    Confirm the login

Sign in to webmail through ArmstrongMyWire.com once. The user name and password that work there are the ones to use here.

  2. 2

Add the Zoom mailbox, then the rest

Enter the address, imap.zoominternet.net and the password. Gmail, Yahoo, AOL, iCloud and your own domain join the same way, each with its own login.

  3. 3

    Read it on any computer

Every message gets a category and a spam verdict as it arrives, and the same board opens at the shop, at home, or on a Chromebook mail app.

Where a browser client fits

What you get with Inboxes

The job Armstrong has no product for, which is holding a Zoom address and every other mailbox in one list.

Settings entered once

A new laptop or a replaced phone means opening a browser and signing in, with no server names to look up again.

Zoom beside everything else

The Armstrong mailbox in the same stream as Gmail, Yahoo and your own domain, with the source account on each row.

Read from anywhere

The connection to Armstrong starts in the United States, so the board keeps filling while you are out of the country.

Junk marked on arrival

A long-lived address collects years of lists. Each message gets a category and a spam verdict before you open it.

Where this is the wrong answer

What Inboxes does not do

We cannot promise sending through Armstrong's server. Reading a Zoom mailbox worked in our test. Armstrong's outgoing server, though, turned away the connection from our own servers on October 6, 2026. Until that changes, plan to read and sort the Zoom address here and send replies from Armstrong webmail or your phone.

It does not change Armstrong's mailbox. Storage, Armstrong's spam filter, the password and the account itself stay with Armstrong.

It does not use OAuth anywhere. We connect with a user name and password over IMAP, which suits a zoominternet.net address and rules out others. An outlook.com, hotmail.com or Microsoft 365 work address will not connect here. Armstrong, Gmail, Yahoo, AOL, iCloud, Zoho and own domain mailboxes all do.

No calendar, no contacts, no offline mode, and no permanent tier that costs nothing. It runs in a browser tab, and plans start at 49 dollars a month for five mailboxes. If one address on one computer at home is all you need, the settings at the top of this page and Thunderbird will do it with no license fee. The case for paying starts when you read several mailboxes on several machines, or want the volume itself cut down.

FAQ

Questions people ask about Armstrong email settings

What are the Armstrong email settings?

Incoming mail is IMAP on imap.zoominternet.net, port 993, with SSL on. Outgoing mail is smtp.zoominternet.net on port 587 with TLS or STARTTLS on, and the outgoing server needs the same user name and password as the incoming one. These are the values Armstrong publishes for Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird, iPhone and Android.

What are the Armstrong email server settings?

Armstrong lists two servers. The incoming mail server is imap.zoominternet.net on port 993 with SSL, and the outgoing mail server is smtp.zoominternet.net on port 587 with TLS or STARTTLS. If you prefer POP, the incoming server is pop3.zoominternet.net on port 995 with SSL. Port 25 is no longer supported for sending.

What are the zoominternet email settings for IMAP?

Choose IMAP as the account type, enter imap.zoominternet.net as the incoming host with port 993 and SSL, and smtp.zoominternet.net as the outgoing host with port 587 and STARTTLS. Sign in with your Zoom Internet user name and password on both servers. Armstrong recommends IMAP over POP for anyone who reads mail on more than one device.

Is there a zoominternet email app?

There is no dedicated Zoom Internet mail app. The Armstrong app is an account management app for bills, Auto-Pay, outage notices and service visits, and Armstrong lists access to Zoom internet email among its features. To read a zoominternet.net address in a real mail program, you add it over IMAP on a phone or a computer.

How do I set up Armstrong email on iPhone?

Open Settings, then Mail, Accounts, Add Account, Other and Add Mail Account. Enter your name, your full zoominternet.net address and the password, then pick IMAP. Use imap.zoominternet.net on port 993 for incoming and smtp.zoominternet.net on port 587 for outgoing, and fill in the user name and password on both, because Armstrong says all fields must be completed.

How do I set up zoominternet email in Outlook?

Add the account with the manual option, choose IMAP, and enter imap.zoominternet.net on port 993 with SSL for incoming and smtp.zoominternet.net on port 587 for outgoing. On the Outgoing Server tab, tick that the outgoing server requires authentication, and put your email address in the user name field with your password.

Why is my Armstrong email not working?

The most common causes are outgoing authentication switched off, an old setup still sending on port 25, a POP account that moved mail onto one device, and a password changed on the Armstrong side but not in the mail program. Armstrong dropped port 25 for sending, so any program still using it receives mail and never sends.

Is Armstrong email IMAP or POP?

Both exist, and Armstrong recommends IMAP. With IMAP the mail stays on the Armstrong server and changes made on one device show on the others. POP removes mail from the server and delivers it to one device, which Armstrong itself warns can cause problems when you check mail from several places.

What is a zoom.email address?

It is a shorter second address for the same mailbox. Armstrong added zoom.email as an option that delivers to the same Zoom inbox you already use, so [email protected] and [email protected] arrive in one place. Nothing needs setting up, and the server settings stay the same.

How do I access my Armstrong Zoom email?

Three ways. Go to ArmstrongMyWire.com and click Email to read it on the web, add the address to the mail app on your phone, or connect it to a mail program on a computer over IMAP. All three read the same mailbox, so a message read in one is marked read in the others when IMAP is used.

Is Armstrong email migrating to a new system?

Armstrong has not published a migration notice that we could find as of October 2026. Its help pages still list the same zoominternet.net servers, and those servers answered our connection test on October 6, 2026. If Armstrong announces a change, the server names on its email program help page are the ones to trust.

Can I read Armstrong email and Gmail in one app?

Yes, in any IMAP client. The zoominternet.net address connects with its normal user name and password and Gmail with a Google app password, and both appear in one list with the source account marked on each message. Nothing is forwarded, so the Armstrong mailbox stays exactly as it is.

Can I check Armstrong email when traveling abroad?

Possibly not from a mail program on your own device. In our test on October 6, 2026, the Armstrong mail servers answered from the United States and timed out from an address in Poland on every mail port. A client that connects from US servers on your behalf keeps reading the mailbox while you are away.
