For midco.net addresses
Midco Email Settings and Midco Email App for Your midco.net Address in One Inbox
Midco makes no mail app, and My Account only manages the bill and the password. Inboxes reads your midco.net mailbox over IMAP beside Gmail and work mail, on any computer you sign in from.
IMAP · Normal password · Nothing to install
In short
There is no Midco email app. Midco's My Account app manages the bill and the email password, and Midco Wi-Fi manages the router, but neither reads mail. A midco.net address is read in webmail at mail.midco.net or in any mail program over IMAP. The settings Midco publishes are pop.midco.net on port 993 for incoming IMAP and smtp.midco.net for outgoing, with the full address and the normal email password. Since January 2026 each Midco address costs 1 dollar a month, and Midco issues no new ones, so the address you already have is the one worth reading well.

What changed in 2026
Midco now bills for every email address
Starting January 2026, Midco charges 1 dollar a month for each email address it provides. A household that opened three addresses in the cable modem years now pays 36 dollars a year to keep them, and Midco's own advice is to delete the ones you no longer use in My Account.
Before you delete one, check what still writes to it. An address that has been live since the early 2000s is usually the login for a bank, a pharmacy, a county portal or an old insurance policy. Deleting is immediate, the mail inside goes with it, and new messages to that address are rejected. Midco also stopped issuing new addresses, so there is no getting it back.
So the realistic plan for most people is to keep the one address that matters, pay the dollar, and stop letting it sit in a webmail tab nobody opens. That is the job a mail client does, and it is where a midco.net address sits comfortably next to Gmail. If you run several addresses for a small business as well, the page on an email client for multiple accounts covers that in more depth.

Taken from Midco's device setup page and checked against the servers from the United States. Midco tells customers to ask their device maker for help with setup, so these are worth getting right the first time.

Set in My Account, no app password exists
The pop host is not a typo. Midco's page names pop.midco.net as the incoming server for IMAP. The same server answers on imap.midco.net with the same certificate, so a program that insists on an imap name is not wrong either.
Port 587 for sending. Midco lists 465 or 587. From a US server, 587 with STARTTLS answered at once and offered password login, while 465 never opened. Use 587 unless your program will not accept it.
No app password. The login is the email password you set in My Account under Services and Manage Email. There is no two step code on the mailbox, which is why it connects to any IMAP client.

Six routes to Midco email, compared
The real differences are where each one runs and whether it can hold your other addresses too.
Swipe to see all columns →
| Route to Midco email | Runs on | Holds other accounts too | Sorts or filters for you | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Inboxes | Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, in a browser tab | Yes, one merged board | Yes, a category and a spam flag on every message | 49 dollars a month for five mailboxes, half that billed yearly |
| Midco My Account app | iPhone and Android | It reads no mail at all | Not applicable | Included with service |
| Midco webmail | Any browser, at mail.midco.net | No, one address at a time | Spam folder, emptied after 30 days | 1 dollar a month per address |
| iPhone or Android Mail app | The phone only | Yes | No | Included with the phone |
| Thunderbird | Windows, macOS, Linux | Yes, through Unified Folders | Rules you write by hand | Open source, no license fee |
| Classic Outlook | Windows and macOS only | Yes, several accounts in one profile | Rules you write by hand | Part of a Microsoft 365 subscription |
Server names, ports, storage, the fee and the spam rule come from Midco's support pages. The My Account feature list is from its App Store listing. If one midco.net address on one home computer is the whole problem, Thunderbird or your phone's Mail app is an honest answer with no license fee.
When the setup fails
Midco email not working on a phone or in Outlook
The user name is missing @midco.net. Phones and auto setup often fill in only the part before the @. The server then turns down a password that is perfectly correct, and people reset it in My Account for nothing.
The program set itself up as POP. Because the host is called pop.midco.net, plenty of programs assume POP on port 995. That still downloads mail, but it pulls messages onto one device and the laptop never sees them. Choose IMAP on port 993 by hand.
Mail arrives but never leaves. Outgoing authentication is off, or the program is trying port 465. Switch on authentication with the same login as incoming and use port 587 with STARTTLS.
Nothing new is arriving at all. Check the storage. Each address has 5 GB across every folder, Sent and Trash included, and once it is full new mail bounces to the sender with a mailbox full notice. Midco empties Junk, Trash and Spam after 30 days, but nothing else.
The password was changed in My Account. Every phone and program that holds the address keeps the old one until you update it there too, and a phone retrying an old password can look like an outage.

Setting it up
Midco email in a desktop app, in three steps
No installer and no Midco software. The connection lives with us rather than on each device, so every computer you open it on shows the same board.
-
1
Confirm the password
Sign in at mail.midco.net once. If it works there, it works here. If not, set a new one in My Account under Services and Manage Email.
-
2
Add midco.net, then the rest
Enter the full address, pop.midco.net and the password. Gmail, Yahoo, AOL, iCloud and your own domain join the same way, each with its own login.
-
3
Read it on any computer
Every message gets a category and a spam verdict as it arrives, and the same board opens at home, at the office or on a Chromebook mail app.
Where a browser client fits
What you get with Inboxes
The job Midco has no product for, which is holding a midco.net address and every other mailbox in one list, on any computer.
midco.net beside everything else
The Midco address in the same stream as Gmail, Yahoo and your own domain, sorted by arrival with the source account on each row.
Fewer addresses to pay for
With every address on one board you can see which ones still get real mail before you delete the rest and stop paying a dollar a month for each.
Room in a 5 GB mailbox
Newsletters and notifications are labeled as they land, so the bulk that fills a capped mailbox is easy to clear before mail starts bouncing.
Replies from the right address
A message sent to your midco.net address is answered from it. Forwarding into Gmail breaks that unless you also set up Send as, which Google removes for outside addresses in January 2027.
One setup, every machine
Outlook and Thunderbird are configured per computer. Here the mailbox is connected once, so the desktop and the laptop show the same board.
Spam flagged before you open it
An address that has been live for twenty years collects more than its share of junk. A spam verdict lands on every message as it arrives, on top of Midco's own filter.
Where this is the wrong answer
What Inboxes does not do
It does not change Midco's mailbox. The 5 GB cap, the monthly fee, Midco's spam filter and the account itself stay with Midco. A password change still happens in My Account.
It cannot bring back a deleted address. Once an address is removed in My Account, Midco rejects new mail to it and the old mail is gone. Nothing here recovers it.
It does not use OAuth anywhere. We connect with a user name and password over IMAP, which suits a midco.net address well and rules out others. An outlook.com, hotmail.com or Microsoft 365 work address will not connect here. Midco, Gmail, Yahoo, AOL, iCloud, Zoho and own domain mailboxes all do.
No calendar, no contacts, no offline mode, and no permanent tier that costs nothing. It runs in a browser tab, and plans start at 49 dollars a month for five mailboxes. If one combined list on one computer at home is all you need, Thunderbird or your phone's Mail app does it with no license fee. The case for paying starts when you read on several machines or want the volume itself cut down.
FAQ
Questions people ask about the Midco email app
Is there a Midco email app?
No. Midco publishes two apps, Midco My Account and Midco Wi-Fi, and neither one reads mail. My Account handles bills, AutoPay, outages, appointments and the password for your email address. To read a midco.net address in an app, you add it to a mail program over IMAP on a phone or a computer.
What are the Midco email settings?
Incoming mail is IMAP on pop.midco.net, port 993, with SSL/TLS. Outgoing mail is smtp.midco.net on port 587 with STARTTLS, with outgoing authentication switched on. The user name is your full midco.net address and the password is your normal email password. There is no app password step.
What are the Midco email server settings?
Midco lists one incoming server, pop.midco.net, for IMAP on port 993, and smtp.midco.net for outgoing mail on port 465 or 587. The odd part is the name: Midco uses the pop host for IMAP too. imap.midco.net also answers with the same server, so either name works in a mail program.
How do I access my Midco email?
Three ways. Sign in to Midco webmail at mail.midco.net with your full address and email password, add the address to the mail app on your phone, or connect it to a mail program on your computer over IMAP. My Account and the My Account app manage the address and its password, but they do not show your messages.
How do I set up Midco email on iPhone?
Open Settings, then Mail, Accounts, Add Account, Other, Add Mail Account. Choose IMAP, enter pop.midco.net as the incoming host and smtp.midco.net as the outgoing host, and use the full midco.net address as the user name on both. If the phone guesses POP, delete the account and add it again as IMAP.
How do I set up Midco email in Outlook?
In classic Outlook, add the account with the advanced or manual option, pick IMAP, and enter pop.midco.net on port 993 with SSL/TLS for incoming and smtp.midco.net on port 587 with STARTTLS for outgoing. Tick that the outgoing server requires authentication. Automatic setup tends to guess the wrong host.
Why is my Midco email not working?
The usual causes are a user name typed without @midco.net, an incoming host of imap.midco.net combined with a POP setting, outgoing authentication switched off, or a full mailbox. Midco caps each address at 5 GB across every folder, and once it is full new mail bounces back to the sender.
Why is my Midco email not sending?
Almost always the outgoing side. Use smtp.midco.net on port 587 with STARTTLS and switch on outgoing authentication with the same address and password as incoming. Midco lists port 465 as well, but in our test from a US server port 465 did not answer while 587 did, so 587 is the safe choice.
Does Midco charge for email?
Yes. Starting January 2026, Midco charges 1 dollar a month for each email address it provides. You can keep using the address or delete it in My Account under Services and Manage Email. Deleting is immediate and cannot be undone, and new mail sent to a deleted address is rejected.
Can I still get a new Midco email address?
No. Midco says it no longer offers new Midco email addresses as part of its internet service and suggests opening an account with another provider. If you already have a midco.net address you can keep it, change its password and remove it, but a deleted one cannot be recreated.
How do I reset my Midco email password?
In My Account on the web, hover over Services, choose Manage Email, then Edit next to the address. In the My Account app, open the menu, then Services, Internet and Manage Email. Enter the new password twice and submit, then update it in every mail program that holds the address.
Is Midco getting rid of email?
Not according to Midco. It has stopped issuing new addresses and added the 1 dollar monthly fee from January 2026, but existing midco.net addresses keep working. Some customers are using the fee as the moment to delete addresses they no longer use, which is a separate choice from Midco ending the service.
Can I read Midco email and Gmail in one app?
Yes, in any IMAP client. The midco.net address connects with its normal password and Gmail with a Google app password, and both appear in one list with the source account marked. Nothing is forwarded, so a reply to mail sent to your Midco address still goes out from midco.net.
